Jayme Ackemann Appointed to SLV Water District Board Seat
Jayme Ackemann has been appointed to the San Lorenzo Valley Water District Board of Directors. She fills the seat vacated by Tina To who resigned in March just three months into her four-year term. Ackemann is a public affairs consultant and freelance writer. She has worked on major capital investments and water infrastructure capital construction projects for organizations such as San Jose Water, San Mateo County Transit District, and Santa Cruz METRO.
Ackemann has been the infrastructure writer for the San Lorenzo Valley Post and was a recent member of the Friends of San Lorenzo Valley Water advocacy group.
Ackemann said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to fill out the remainder of Director To’s term. But in order to take a step forward to serve on behalf of our community, I need to take a step back from my work with Friends of San Lorenzo Valley Water and my water-focused coverage with the Post.
That said, my husband and I have spent nearly two decades raising our children in this Valley and I continue to care deeply about all of the issues affecting our homes, businesses, and kids. I plan to continue writing on those issues that won’t fall under the Water District’s influence.
But most importantly, I hope to earn your trust so that our community will consider returning me to the Board when I stand for re-election in 2022.”
Ackemann lives in Ben Lomond with her husband and daughter.
